I run an Nvidia Sheild Pro as a server, with an attached Toshiba HD as storage. I recently shared the server for the first time, and the other user tried to watch something remotely for the first time last night - I presume this is significant.
I last watched something successfully on the 18th november. Now, my hard drive is missing the library folders for my Movies and TvShows, the only Plex content I have. In their place I have ‘files’ with their names, each of which are 0 bytes and have no properties.
I realize your post is like 26 days old so you probably have this worked out already.
I also have a 2019 Shield Pro with 2 external drives for Plex.
I don’t have Plex Pass, but are they setup as managed users or friends?
The reason I ask is that I think with Plex Pass you can have managed users that might have the admin permissions and the ability to delete your files. (even accidentally)
I only share with one person at the moment who is set as a friend and they have no access to modify the file structure etc…just watch the libraries I share with them.

Thanks for the reply! They were set up as friend only, with no permissions beyond browsing and playback. I found that I’d need to eject and reinsert the hdd for the files to be made available again, and ended up revoking their access as the problem would otherwise keep recurring
Since then, I’ve had other recurring issues with library scans getting stuck on ‘TV Programmes’, and that having the knock on effect of locking up all files until the scan was manually stopped. I’ve ended up just deleting that library for now as the whole thing was turning into too much of a headache
I had a weird issue a while back, had to restore my database from backup. Some things were viewable on the shield, scans wouldn’t show any new items after I added them to the library. All kinds of weirdness.
Only after the last update from Nvidia did someone mention they supposedly patched a bug that would randomly disconnect connected external storage.
I wonder if that is something that might have attibuted itself to your eject and reconnect issue?
