My iOS devices can't sign into my Plex Server account

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4392
Player Version#:

My Mac profile crashed and I was forced to start using my Plex on a new Mac profile. Since that has happened I had to add my libraries over again and sign back in with my Apple TVs and Firesticks. These work fine. However, my iPhone and iPad cannot sign in. I’m getting the error - The provider token couldn’t be validated with the provider. I’m signing in on the Plex app by (Continue with Google). As soon as I put in my google credentials that error comes up on my iPhone and iPad.

Even if my server is off or down, I should still be able to sign in from a mobile app. I’m stumped on this.

Same issue here, iPad air 2 latest OS 14.4.2.
Reinstalled, device restarted, etc — nothing helps.

I just figured this out and it worked on both my iPad and iPhone. When logging in, I chose to sign in with email instead of through Google. I put in my gmail email address and the password for my Plex server and it finally signed me in. Now both my iPad and iPhone show up as authorized devices. I’m so happy. Hope this works for you.

Tried that, wasn’t so lucky — still the same.
Just realized smth.
You said you used password for your plex server. What kind of password? Did you use your Google account password or smth else?

Did it give you the same error I was getting?

Precisely the same one.

When you click on your account in the top right of your plex server and choose account. I assigned my account a password in there. You don’t need to by default but I just did that today. I used my gmail and that password when trying to sign in from the plex app on my iphone/ipad. I didn’t use the actual password for my gmail email address. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks, it worked!
I guess there is an issue with ios/Google Auth tokens of some sort…

Yeah there must be. This issue made me so cranky because I did so many other things before I tried what actually fixed it. I’m glad it worked. Happy streaming.
