My Library not complete after several Scans

Howdy all. I am brand new to PMS. I typically just used my PC to connect to my Drobo FS and played content from there. However, we are cutting the DISH satellite cord, and going with Digital Over The Air via our new Hauupague USB TV Tuner.

I have connected everything up properly, ran the PMS setup, and all seems fine. I then created folders on my Drobo FS in a Volume I created only for the PMS. The first one I started with, as I have a HUGE collection of items to add, was my TV Shows. This is my smallest collection. I copied all my content into the TV Shows folder, and it did the scan, but it only added a few seasons of each show, and some of the seasons don’t have all the episodes listed. I have run the scan several time now since 2AM this morning, and still nothing else is being added.

I am totally lost. I Have a bunch of movies and over 20k songs in music. So, before I copy the data over into those folders and start up PMS, I was hoping someone could enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong. Thanks so very much for any help.

This is LAW…

Okay. Will look this over and see what I can do. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a notification email that you had left the comment, so I had already scratched everything and am starting over.

Here are some more tips for movies in particular:
How to find the discrepancy between number of files on disk and the number of movies in the Plex movie library

OK. Still didn’t fix my issue. I have 5 TV Shows in my directory. South Park, Simpsons, Justified, Dexter, The Office.
Not all Seasons or Episodes of any of these five shows show up. I have tried this on 4 different Plex setups trying to see what I could be doing wrong. Same issue on all 4 test servers. Any other ideas? There is no difference from one seasons to the next on any show. All episodes and seasons format look the same as those imported. I’m lost.

Give us details on one of the shows.

Full path and filename of show. An example;
D:\TV\South Park (1997)\Season 01\South Park (1997) - s01e01 - Cartman Gets an ■■■■ Probe.mkv

Sure. I’ve tried both UNC pathing and drive letter pathing.
“\DROBO-FS\PLEX_MEDIA\TV Shows\Dexter\Season 1\Born Free.mp4”
“d:\TV Shows\Dexter\Season 1\Born Free.mp4”

(I used quotes because it wouldn’t show the pathing without some weird emoji in my comment above)

1st) Naming the series Dexter to Dexter (2006) probably wouldn’t hurt.
2nd) Should be Season 01 and not Season 1
3rd and probably most important) You are using MP4 files. This format container could contain embedded information that could(and WILL) cause matching issues. You will need to make sure you clear any garbage that might be embedded or move LMA to the bottom of your agent list.

4th) You may have to PlexDance the series after any/all of the above,

Well, I guess I’m lost, because it puts Season 1 in just fine, but like season 4 didn’t show up, season 5 did show up but only a couple episodes are listed. And they all have the same format as what I sent you before. Doesn’t make any sense that I need to add (2006) or 01 instead of 1 as it sees some just not all.

So there is a specific format that my content needs to be in? That doesn’t sound right either. But I have no idea how to clear garbage that may be embedded and no idea what LMA is or how to move to the bottom of an agent list.

Lastly, I don’t know what PlexDance is, but why do I need to use some 3rd party application/program to solve my issue?

LMA = Local Media Assets.

If you are using Windows then you can clear the metadata from the properties tab.
