I like Plex but I didn’t want it slowing down my laptop so I invested in a Synology DS218+. I was able to download plex from the official plex website and installed it. I also transferred all my media over by Plex is not recognizing any of my media files! I am new to the NAS area and don’t know much about this stuff, am I doing anything wrong or is Plex just bugged out?
did you make a library? what sort of media do you have
if you made a movie library did you tell it which folder(s) you put all your movies in?
movie, tv shows, home movies, music or photos should not be jumbled all together in same folder

I have given my self-access to the folder that plex creates and I have organized everything to Movies and TV Shows, all of my files are in the mp4 format. These are the same files that I used when Plex was running on my laptop. Something else I noticed I when I added a TV Shows Folder to the Library plex didn’t show the new folder.

not sure what this means. Do you mean when you created library and hit “Browse for Folder” you could not navigate to that folder?
