Plex library not seeing folders or files Synology DSM7

Server Version#:7.11
Player Version#:1.30.0

I know I am doing something incorrect But for the life of me can’t figure it out

Have Synology 1621+. Installed Plex media server.

I have created shared folders in the Volume 1 of the NAS. Cinema, TV shows and Music. Put in the appropriate media. For Cinema I loaded files as mp4 directly under folder. Same with TV shows. For music I have put various folders with artists name and then albums under it and then mp3 files in albums. I have given permissions for read/ write to them all.

I then went to Plex media server, created libraries and then pointed them to these folders where I had stored media. For some strange reason Plex is able to see media in the Cinema folder but not in the other two. I have scanned library files and still nothing. All I see is the message - TV shows is empty. or Music folder is empty And the yellow button -manage library.

Is this something that I have done wrong in Synology when adding the media files and folders. Or with Plex media server.

Is there a FAQ on the proper way t set up folders in Synology and add media and also have Plex see them.

Thanks

With tv-shows it could also be an issue with your file naming / folder organization.

To add to Tom,

Here’s another way to do the same thing.
