My Media Library are not showing on my Sony BRAVIA 4K. Why?

Hi… I have just install Plex Android Smart TV apps for my new Sony BRAVIA 4K tv. But for som reason my own media library are not showing/can´t be find ind the menu. Why?.. Only Plex content are showing in the menu. I have no problems on my mobile device or Windows media server. Only on the plex tv apps seems to have this problems.

I have try to reinstalled the plex apps several times, login plex.tv-link. Nothing happens. My media library are not showing nowhere in the menu. It seems plex can load/find/connect to my media library… How come? Any ideas to fix this. Thanks

Looking at your account your server is not reporting your servers local IP address. Something is blocking reporting that but not sure why.

Do you have GDM disabled in the server settings?

GDR is set to “Enable Local Area Network Discovery (GDM)”

do you have any firewall on your computer blocking ports? What network ports do I need to allow through my firewall? | Plex Support

probably need to see server logs

I don´t think so, as I have no problems connecting to my mobile device or Windows media server. If firewall on my your computer were blocking ports, then the problem should also appear on my mobile device. But I have no problem connecting to my media library there. Only the Plex Android Smart TV apps.

Late to the game, but my Sony Bravia seems to have the same issue. It seems that every time the Plex server gets a Plex update, and most recently the last few days, my media no longer show up. Sometimes it is just this TV; other times it is the Roku and FireTV devices as well. This has become so frequent that I’ve been searching for Plex alternatives.

Note I do not need Plex streaming services–just access to my own media. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime plus 65 local broadcast channels. I have no use for more commercial-laden TV, yet today, that’s all Plex can deliver. My current subscription runs until November. Then done.

Will need to see logs from the players and the server so we can see why it cannot connect to a local server

You can turn those off in your account settings at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources

What logs? Where are these logs?

Links to how to get logs. Grab logs after opening app and server libraries are not on home screen or the MORE menu.

the player logs will tell us what requests it is making to the server. If the request is getting to the server the server’s logs will hopefully tell us if the server is having some issue completing the request

Roku logs

Android logs ( for the Fire TV and the Sony if it is Android based)

If the Sony is not Android based then follow these steps which will write the app logs to the server’s logs Logging for Smart TV App | Plex Support

Server logs

Too late. I uninstalled everything–Sony/Android app, Plex server from the server computer, app from the server computer. All gone. Cleaned up the server computer with CCleaner. Then started over after restarting the server computer. The restarted the TV and reinstalled the Plex app. Now it seems to be working. If I can find where to disable auto update, maybe I can keep this running until November.
