I completely new to Plex. I created a new library for my home videos and Plex started adding metadata to my home videos. I had one video called Christmas 2020 and it found a korean movie called Christmas 2020 and added the movie art and description. About 40% of my home videos include inaccurate descriptions and connections to real movies. How to do I reverse or stop this from happening. I thought I had the agent in the correct order? For something is in theory simple everything is rather complicated to set up properly. Thanks
What library type?
If you use “Other Videos,” Plex will not try to match to online databases. Leave scanner & agent at defaults for the library: Scanner = Plex Video Files; Agent = Personal Media.
You can organize personal media in a season/episode format using a TV Show library (see docs linked below). If you do so, change the library agent to “Personal Media Shows,” so Plex will not try to match your personal media with online databases.
See Editing Libraries docs regarding changing the scanners/agents for existing libraries.
You cannot change a library type (ex Movies → Other Videos). You’ll have to create a new library of the desired type.
