Server Version#: Synology NAS DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 3
Player Version#: Plex Version 1.18.0.1944
Hello,
I need to be pointed in the correct direction.
I had the Plex UI working with my Synology NAS 219+ for about a year. About a month ago it stopped working. In the mean time I have tried to get it going again with no luck. Let me describe what is happening.
I am able to sign into my Plex and see all of the media content. When I try to open a movie, I get an error message telling me to check to see if my disk is mounted or if the content exists. I get this every time no matter what I try to open.
The content is there. I am able to go to Synology and play the content or download the content. I have gone through the Synology Control panel and made sure all the permissions are read and write and other settings looked good to me.
In Plex I tried to run the /Movies/Scan to no effect. I also checked the settings and they all looked good. I am also able to sign into a friends NAS and I am able to play their movies on my system. I am about to delete everything and start over from scratch but decided to write first.
There is one thing I found that looks bad. In the package center the Plex package is there and the link under it says “Run”. When I run the package it tries to install it,. but fails and the link revert to “Run”. I believe this should be labeled installed, but the install does not seem to be working. When I go to the Main Menu, the Plex package is not listed.
What should I do to correct this problem?
Is this the problem?
What else do you suggest?
Mike
