After many other problems were resolved like port 32400 not working, remote access not working, ip passthrough not working, etc. my server is finally up and running but the configuration is gone - there is no knowledge of my media libraries, playlists, etc. I can see that a linux server expects the application data to be in /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/ but my location was on my nas raid /<mount point/media/plex/MediaLibrary/Plex Media Server/. I must have been able to set my location previously. Anyway, I googled a solution and was told to make a symbolic link to my location. I did so and the plexmediaserver did not come up. Before all these problems I was successfully running on 1.43.0.10389-8be686aa6.
Ok, I have new updates. I can see from the documentation that the application data location is supposed to be /apps/plexmediaserver/MediaLibrary/Plex Media Server/ on ReadyNas but it is using the Debian location /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/
And while I thought there was a failure without output when I made a symbolic link to Plex Media Server it looks like I got this in this startup crash log
May 18, 2026 10:32:55: Failed to initialize logging: Empty or non-existant file.
Any ideas
I seem to have had more success symbolically linking the directories under Plex Media Server. There is no problem until I symbolically link the Plug-in Support directory. I have attached the logs. I would really appreciate some help. Thank you, Lewis
