I did some cable management behind my tv and unplugged everything including the Shield and its attatched external HDD. After plugging in and restarting everything the Shield and the plex app itself seem to be working fine but it seems like the Shield has forgotten its a plex server? The server app is installed, the hard drive is still detected as being attached to the Shield, everything seems to be the same as far as i can tell. I thought i would just go into the settings and just start the server again but the Plex Media Server row of settings is just gone. The row label is there but there are no options anymore. No server status and nothing saying that storage is attached. I have no idea what to do.
Go to Shield home screen > Apps > and either type in or speak into remote “Plex Media Server”.
The app might need to be restarted or updated.
It runs quietly in the background as a system app, you won’t see it in the main bar of apps like YouTube, etc.
