I am the admin of a Plex Server instance shared among 4 members of my family. My admin account is linked to a Plex Pass subscription. The other Plex user accounts are individually linked to our Tidal Family Subscription.
According to this guide (https://support.plex.tv/articles/enhance-a-plex-music-library-with-tidal) plex users can enhance their music library by adding content from Tidal – which is a great feature. However, it seems that my users, which have access to the same shared music library on the server, can’t see albums that I have added from Tidal. Also, the “Add to Music” option from the menu doesn’t show up in their Plex players (see included image below).
So, my question is, why can’t my users, who do have a valid Tidal subscription, have access to the content from Tidal that I have added to the shared library?
If I link/add a TIDAL subscription to my account, is it shared with other users?
Having a TIDAL subscription linked to a Plex account is a 1:1 relationship. The Plex account to which it is linked will have access to TIDAL content. Shared accounts (including Plex Home members) will not have access to TIDAL.
I am also curious about this. I share a library to users who have their own Plex accounts and their own Tidal subscriptions, however, they don’t see the enhanced library the same way I do. Their Tidal library is completely separate from the shared library.
Please read carefully before giving your opinion: we have clearly referred to “Plex users with Tidal subscription”. This means that Tidal receives money from each user who has access to the shared library on Plex.
I don’t see any technical or economical obstacle to this feature.
