Started using plex when chromescast came out and plex pass was early to marke so I jumped in. My network has evolved to many different devices. I used to just be able to log in once and use the device forever without loging in. Several months ago now, that changed and had to re-log in every time i switched device or user on XBOX one(I have 3, they are great media centers). I read about my home for multi user as the solution. And every time I roll it back and decide to just have to sing in almost every time. doing that is better than myhome.
With myhome I can set a pin for my account. When I invite others and they accept it generates errors. So all it does is make issues on all the other devices when there were no issues, because now they all have to log in with a dumb pin. And xbox still has the same issue. I dont think myhome has been worked on enough to handle many xboxes many chromecast nucs etc… And Pin? Kids are better with graphics. Give an avatar like netflix… its way easier to do… I am hosting this myself seems like this hasnt been done very well. I hope it gets fixed soon. There are other options.And your forcing me to look when I was totally happy with this and recommending it. As it is now. I cant recommend to anyone using xbox and have kids because of myhome and pins etc…please let me know if there are changes coming and I should wait or not. Allready been very long time.

The Xbox app currently does not support Plex Home. The Pin number you are entering isn’t a Plex thing it is the Xbox One sign in.
So yes things will get better once Plex Home is supported as then the App will be able to handle user switching and you won’t have to rely on the Xbox One’s profiles.
So, will users be required to enter pins or log in every time time the app starts? Or will it be seamless or require an avatar… The pin thing is dead on arrival for me with the little ones.

Here’s were the answer is going to get tricky. Right now the pin they are entering is because the Xbox One is switching profiles. If you continue to use different Xbox One profiles then yes they will continue to have to enter the pin.
However, if their Plex Home account does not have a pin then when you log in they will be able to select their account without having to enter a pin inside of the app. In my house we only use Plex Home for the separate watch status so neither my account nor my wife’s have a pin. Using the Android App, Web App, etc switching between our accounts no pin is necessary. And the functionality should be the same once it is implemented.
i cant even implement it. it give errors to any user i try to add. Yep time to switch and save some coin. It was fine up until a few months ago… Other options that my server can do to get metadata.
