Hello, I am trying to figure out why my remote access stopped working. We had PMS setup and everything was running fine but then due to some hardware failure we had to rebuild the server. Nothing has changed on the network side of things but when we installed PMS on the new OS it will not connect to remote access at all. Here is the background, we have a pfSense Firewall and I have a manual entry to open port 32400, the server is running Server 2008 R2 Standard, on this server I have added manual entry’s to open incoming/outgoing traffic on port 32400. This is the exact same setup as last time. Now where it get’s strange is using a online port checking tool such as yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ it does show port 32400 as being open on my public ip address. So I thought maybe there was something else on the network using that port so I unplugged the Ethernet on the Plex server and the port closed so I know it is mapped to the correct port. I am signed into Plex but using my manual port entry is not working and UPnP is not working either and I do have it turned on in my firewall and there is several other devices on my network using it.
UPDATE:
As I was doing research to fix the problem I discovered someone recommended to test going to mypublicip:port/web and I am able to login remotely and watch media however when I access the “Remote Access” page remotely it claims not to be available outside my network. Also there is no chance there is a double NAT situation. My Internet connection comes directly into my firewall where it uses PPPoE to authenticate. There is only one device.
