Came across an interesting issue with naming and managing of parts of a concert disc set. I have the Led Zeppelin 2003 DVD (https://amzn.to/2V4bEg9). It contains over a dozen separate clips and concerts spread across two discs. I used Handbrake to pull the “parts” of the discs that I want to keep. All in all, I have about 6 parts of the entire list of video files.
Following the naming guide, my folders look like this:
/Movies
/Led Zeppelin DVD (2003)
Led Zeppelin DVD (2003) - pt1.mkv
Led Zeppelin DVD (2003) - pt8.mkv
Led Zeppelin DVD (2003) - pt9.mkv
Ideally, this should work like TV Series. I have Band of Brothers and if I want to keep the special features, I just name them with a suffix of “S00E01” and Plex knows that S00 refers to the special feature videos from that disc series.
The good in this scenario is that Plex sees the concert disk and shows the artwork and other related metadata. The issue is it doesn’t see the parts as individual “chapters” It will play the first concert file then stop. Any suggestions?

I am using a browser web client player. I think this SHOULD handle multiple parts. What would be nice is if Plex showed each “part” as a different playable track from the discs. Maybe I need to name these differently. As it stands, there are no separate tracks. As each “part” or track is a separate concert session, I would want to treat them much like TV episodes in a season but have them associated to the same parent DVD entry.
it won’t grab online metadata if it does not exist as a TV show, but you can just enter it manually. if a tv show and you auto-play enabled it will go on to the next “episode”
I just noticed you changed the first post to pt1 , pt8, pt9. I’m pretty sure they need to be sequential to play back to back in a movie library
Thank you! Yeah, it appears to be working as I want using the TV Show format and changing the suffixes to “S01E01” etc. I am just editing the metadata manually as you suggested.
I would hope that there is some enhancement in the future for the Movies section that would handle concert disks like this. But, for now this works!!
