not sure why, but plex keeps scanning my movies library.
at this point I dont really care about what movies have been watched or not watched, if I have to do a new database and start from scratch then I will. but I have no idea how though.
I am not convinced it’s permissions. Your logs would show “Permission Denied” if it were.
When you have “Automatically scan my libraries when changes are detected” enabled?
If you do, then PMS is being triggered by something writing to one of the directories in your Movies library. This is how the kernel’s inotify service works.
If you don’t have the option enabled - then we have something else happening.
At this point, is Automatic scanning enabled or disabled ?
It is enabled.
Think about this. (Hope I’m summarizing this correctly?)
- You had Automatic enabled.
- PMS wouldn’t stop scanning your library nor would it add media.
- I looked at your logs.
- We found many examples, of which I showed one pair, where PMS is being triggered to scan multiple times in the same second.
- By consequence, PMS doesn’t get past scanning long enough to ADD media.
When you turn Sabnzb off,
- PMS completes its scanning
- You get content added.
When you turn sabnzb back on, and turn off Automatic scanning,
- You can detect a movie added as a test. MANUAL SCAN
Please look at the list of folders you have PMS monitor for the Movies library section and CONFIRM that it’s only looking at the directory where the finished movies go ?
As for your sabnzb program, I’m not familiar with it. I do use Sonarr & NZBget (for OTA television) and do not have this problem at all.
NZBget downloads to a temporary area.
It then completes its final work and deposits into a “completed” directory.
Sonarr is notified to look in “completed” where it then imports the episode and moves one last time to the directory in my library where it belongs.
I looked in plex to verify it only looks at my movies folders and tv shows also. It does not look into the incomplete or completed folders.
I wish i could help you more but we’ve exhausted my knowledge given I don’t know/use that program. I know radarr a bit because I tried it (it’s like sonarr)
There must be a setting / “connector” / some setting in that sabnzb program causing this else everyone would be crying out.
Have you looked on their forum

how are you post processing? are you using nzbtomedia? or do you have radarr configured to pick up the files from the completed folders?
sorry, I forgot to add to my own post.
I removed all folder permissions and re did them all and plex seemed to pick up all new media right away.
my new issue is in plex if I do a folder view the amount of items dont match up, I am off by 2 items and I have no idea what two items are missing in my library.
They maybe collections… You didn’t say witch way you were off…
Also check for duplicates
