Hi. I am relatively new to handbrake and I’m not someone who can write code or anything. I can take direction however!
I encoded a movie, say Gladiator. Once it encoded and goes to Plex, it for.some reason will go under Madagascar 3. Which I don’t even have. This happens 95 % of the time. Sometimes it will change over and then repeatedly go to another movie I encoded. Is this something I can change with hamdbrake or is it a PLEX problem? My movies from handbrake currently go to Movies file. I have a imac. Thanks for the help
When you start the encode, don’t give Handbrake the folder of your Plex library as the ‘target’.
What happened here probably was this: Once Handbrake has written the first few megabytes of the encode in progress, Plex took notice of the new file and tried to ‘match’ it.
These partial files are for some reason very often matched as ‘Madagascar 3’.
Never put partial files into Plex. No partially encoded files, no partially downloaded files.
Always prepare the files in a folder, where Plex cannot see them. Only when they’re finished, move them over to the real Plex movie folder.
