Just installed Plex Media Server on my Synology DSM7.0 recently, and tried to use the Plex app on Google TV to play videos, but found Plex is showing and playing incorrect video files.
- On Google TV Plex app, I choose the Library, then by Folders, then I choose a directory with TV show Stargate SG-1, and then move to sub-directory with S1.
- With the S1 directory, it all shows “Everyone Loves Raymond”, not “Stargate SG-1”. The former is another TV show that I stored in another directory/folder, not within the one I opened.
- Clicking one of the video files, e.g. E14, in the detailed info page, it does show it’s “Everyone Loves Raymond”.
- If I click to play the video, it actually plays “Friends”, which is another TV shows in another folder.
So I clicked “Get Info” of the video I just opened, the popup window shows a long list of files info, and looks like all these files (from different TV shows in my NAS, under different folders - I organize TV shows by folders) have the same E14 name in their file names (Though each video file name should also have their TV shows names, e.g. Stargate.SG-1.S01.E14.mkv).
So looks like in scrapping the info from my NAS, Plex simply look at episode name in the filename? Don’t know if this is related to the Synology DSM7.0 version.
