Need help undoing manually specifying public port

Yes, chose Movies to be on the home screen. However, it did not show the other libraries as options to show on the home screen. My left side is like yours (Pic #3 above), but without the other libraries showing. The ghost artifact from the old server is at least gone, and it only shows one now.

There are a lot of changes happening on the operations side.
I’m not surprised something got ‘dinged’.
My job is to find out what it is so it can get fixed.

And you sir are rocking it. Thank you again for all of the amazing help.

HOLY COW!!! I figured out the weird IP address situation. Changed the default log on to be local through a bookmark on my browser instead of through the synology icons that were created on the desktop at set-up, and BAM! Now PMS is using the correct IP address and launches fine.

AND … drum roll please, after solving that, now my other media libraries are on my devices!

Funny how that happens when you stay local instead of going out and trashing the internet, huh?

I knew it was going to be simple. I never thought of that. guess it’s habit on my part to keep local stuff local.

Well, I am going to be making sure any other icons are using local and not the synology created IPs and icons. Wow, huge thanks to you! Thanks for the miracles and early Christmas present.

Keep your better half happy and all is well.

Exactly! Crashing for the night. Will give everything a once over again tomorrow. Thank you again.

Okay to recap for anyone else reading, and for ChuckPA in case he wants an easy recap from my perspective (though his is probably a 1000 times better, more detailed, and more accurate).

Issue 1: User (that would be me) screwed up Manual Port selection.
Fix 1: SSH Tunneling with PuTTY and reset PMS security setting to “0” through browser window (IP address/web?secure=0).

Issue 2: Duplicative server artifact that would not connect, left on Samsung Smart TV App with an exclamation point in the middle of a yellow triangle.
Fix 2: Turning the TV on and off, and restarting the App did not clear up the artifact. Used the option to reset all settings for the App without uninstalling. Artifact was gone after the reset.

Issue 3: On a synology DS 1019+ NAS the PMS, when selecting open or the icon, would attempt to open while pointed at an external 71.2xx.xx.x IP address, and would result in the message “This site can’t be reached … ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT”.
Fix 3: When setting up the NAS for the first time, the wizard creates a desktop icon for accessing the NAS. Unfortunately, this icon points out to the synology website to use the quickconnect feature to then log back into the local NAS. I am clearly a nood that did not understand this. When it does this and you attempt to open the PMS it defaults to pointing at that same 71.2xx.xx IP address as the browser window is currently using for the NAS interface and not the local IP address to allow it to open properly. So, the fix is to open the NAS in a browser window using your local NAS IP address from the beginning (create a bookmark, and make a note somewhere like the underside of the NAS, for future use in case you forget your local IP address). Once this is done, when you open the PMS it defaults to pointing to your local IP address and opens properly. Not sure if there is something that can be done with PMS currently to allow it to always default to the correct local IP address whether quickconnect or a local browser is being used. I know that when not local and logging into my NAS remotely using quickconnect, I have not figured out how to get PMS to launch from outside of my LAN. Which is not a huge deal since I mostly access it while home anyways.

Issue 4: Not all Plex library folders were showing up on the Samsung Smart TV App, and other devices.
Fix 4: Completing Fix 3 also fixed this issue. Not sure why since the Movies folder had no problem showing up on the App and devices prior, so they were clearly accessing the PMS data. However, after completing Fix 3 and logging into the PMS, everything else just popped into place. No idea why.
