Need help with an unconventional naming convention

Hello! I have recently added a “Saturday Mornings” library to my server. A comprehensive collection of the cartoons that I watched as a kid. A trip down memory lane if you will…

My issue is that I have recently come into possession of a LARGE collection of Loony Tunes dating from 1930-1968. I cannot find seasons for these and I’m wondering if there is a way to organize them by year instead of Season. I.E. Instead of “S01E01” have it named “1930E01” or something along those lines.

Any assistance appreciated!

There is nothing unconventional about using years for season numbers.
There are quite a few series listed up on TheTVDB which are using this. Looney Tunes among them. https://thetvdb.com/series/looney-tunes

Important after you added the files to your server:
Once they appear in your tv show library, you need to go to the top level of this show and pick Fix Match.
Then use the ID number tvdb-72514 to force a match. (put this into the input field for the Title)
Once that is done, edit the show again and, on the Advanced tab, set the Episode Ordering to “TVDB aired”.

Looney Tunes as a TV show is no longer easily matched, as TheMovieDB.org have decided that it is not a real tv show (and indeed it began as irregularly shown pre-show content in cinemas) and removed it from their database. You can only find some of the episodes listed as short movies on there.

Thank you! That was exactly what I was looking for!
