Looney Tunes (1930) episode names not showing from TVDB

Server Version#: 1.29.1.6316-7000 (Synology NAS)
Player Version#: 4.87.2

I have created a directory for my Looney Tunes cartoons and pointed it to the TVDB 1930’s series {tvdb-72514}; and have sub-directories for the seasons eg Season 1940. Inside the season are the file names like “Looney Tunes S1940E07 Elmer’s Candid Camera.mkv”.

Plex does show the TV series and the season names; but going into a season just shows “Episode 7” instead of its name - as if it doesn’t pick up the name from TVDB.

I’ve tried renaming season directories to include TVDB reference eg “Season 1940 {tvdb-464003}” and that didn’t change matters. I also tried different file names, like “Looney Tunes - S1940E07 - Elmer’s Candid Camera.mkv” again without any luck.

Is there something else needed to get Plex to match with the info in TVDB for Looney Tunes?

You need to edit the show and set the episode order to TVDB

Could you elaborate, I don’t know what you mean by edit the show?
The filenames all match with TVDB naming (season/episode).

You have 2 options, one which could have an impact on every series in your library and the other option which will impact just the individual series you make the change on. The first option is to change the library default. This option is good if you prefer the TVDB overall (TMDB is the default) and then you can use option 2 to correct those series where you might prefer TMDB. Thank you! Changing the library default [episode ordering] to TheTVDB, as you suggested, fixed the issue (I guess it had been going to IMDB where there is a basic stub of info only).
