I have followed all the links I could pertaining to the connections for plex and cannot seem to get my server to directly connect to my wireless amazon fire tv in my house. My plex server is up to date, I tried to manually open a port on my router and on plex, I have added a list of addresses and networks that are allowed without auth, have made sure my DLNA was enabled, and have secure netowrks set to preferred.
I’m having the same kind of issue. I just installed the latest version of PMS on Ubuntu 18.04LTS. The only way I can seem to connect is via indirect. I’m on the same subnet and it will not connect directly. My secure connection is set to preferred, not required. Anyone out there figured out a way to fix this?
I don’t see on my router (Netgear R7000) where it has DNS Rebinding. I did switch my DNS servers to google’s (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). I’ve got uPnP enabled, I also have port forwarding on. I simply can’t access my Plex server directly when I’m on the same subnet. I’m at a point where I’m willing to pay for support.
