I’d have posted this in the NAS section, but I’d have to choose a brand.
I’m looking for a NAS device (or system) to run Plex Media Server that is:
- Economical
- Adequate for PMS (including DVR, but no need for transcoding because that’s done on my HDHomeRun Extend as I record).
- Native Plex support (don’t want to have to hack it)
- Low power / low heat / low noise
- Preferably in the 4Tb range
- Economical
I bought the WD My Cloud 4 Tb NAS, thinking it was one of the models listed as compatible. It is not, so it’s going back. I got a great deal on it ($158 shipped) by way of a Plex Plus discount that has since expired. Any suggestions in the sub $200 (USD) price range?
Thanks.
