You can adjust the quality settings in whatever app you’re using to view their content
If one server you watch from is ok, this unfortunately could be a limitation that may need to changed on the server owners end, not yours
This could also mean, that persons remote streaming setup is not configured correctly resulting in an indirect “relay” stream that’s capped at 720p 2mbps for a Plex Pass holder
You may need to get in contact with the server owner and have them look at their dashboard in Plex while you try to play something to see what’s actually happening
Thanks @JaysPlex - is there any kind of logging I can view on my end that would show it’s going through a relay server? I suspect this is what’s happening as I think the relay’s cap is 720p 2mbps.
Ideally a log file would show his IP, or the IP of a relay server.
I don’t stream from anyone myself so I’m not the best person to answer that. I’m not sure what shows up in your server dashboard when you stream from someone but you can take a look
Play something from them you’ve had an issue with and expand your dashboard to full view
See if it says remote or indirect here
If it says indirect, it’s a relay. If it says remote, double check your quality settings. The default for streams over the internet is the same as a relay. 720p 2mbps
If it says remote and your quality settings are ok it could be a bandwidth limit/insufficiency on their end
