Hi all
I am trying to back up my Plex folder on my DS916+. Essentially I need to wipe Volume1 on my NAS and rebuild as I have a file system error when trying to expand the volume after a recent upgrade of the drives.
I have followed the guidance in this thread: Move Plex database from Synology 1515+ to 918+ ?
The problem I have run into is that I am unable to compress my Library to Library.zip and receive the error message "Error occurred on /Plex/Library.zip (Operation failed.)
As an alternative I decided to try Method 1 in this thread: How do you backup the Plex Library folder?
This time I was able to backup the folders to an external drive but the Library folder is substantially smaller that indicated when I check the properties from my Windows PC. Windows reports the actual \Plex\Library folder on the NAS as over 7GB but the Library folder that was backed up to the external HDD is around 2.7.
I then decided to try and copy the entire library folder over the network via the share but receive a permissions error as I am not the owner of the folder. Credential manager has me showing as admin to my NAS. Would changing ownership of the Plex folder from Plex user to admin user allow me to then copy it?
I am really stumped; I have backed up all of the data on the NAS to other drives but really want to wipe the volume to rebuild and take advantage of the extra storage now available. Ideas most welcome.
