Don’t really know what to put above. Anyways I’m new. I’ve been around Plex for quite a few years, and really want to quit. I don’t understand the remote streaming of the plex server. All my old routers did the work for me. I have a E9200 Linksys smart router and for the life of me I can not figure out why it won’t allow it through the firewall on windows or my router or wherever it goes. Here’s the strange thing tho, it works sometimes, like once and a while it will error out as my parents are watching something or it won’t work on my fiance’s phone. But it (use to) work perfectly on mine. Maybe I’m just an idiot but this shouldn’t be this hard.
Steps I’ve done:
Opened port 32400 on the windows firewall.
Made sure both uPnP and NAT are on. Checked, shut off, re-enabled them, restarted router.
Nothing, says its open for about 3 seconds, then closes the port down again. My whole plex library was built around this working. I need help. Thanks…
It is showing that it could not reach that port and the reason being that it was timed out. I haven’t been able to use the Plex Media server for 4 days now trying to find the problem.
Alright, sorry about the delayed response, I was out of town. Before I left everything was working fine, 4 days straight it stayed completely connected to the remote access without any issue. Now I run my PMS on my laptop (for now) with a remote connection to a desktop (for storage). Left with my laptop come back home, and now nothing. Checked canyouseeme.org and tested 32400, results are port is open and accessible. As far as I know nothing has changed with my router so why is this happening again? I’m honestly about to just give up on this whole Plex thing, like it use to work so easily.
