New agents, not great

Hi All,

Plex has new agents and wants to convert all libraries to use these new agents.

When I use these new agents, content is detected in the wrong language.
I have set everyting to English, except subtitles, they are in Dutch, and every movie is detected with the Dutch title and description.
When I use “The Movie Database” agent, it detects every movie in English.
Why?

When I use these new agents, it does not pick up .srt files.
When I have an mkv file called “Movie.mkv” and a subtitle file “Movie.nl.srt”, it is ignored.
When I select “The Movie Database”, then the srt file is picked up.
Wh?

Can anybody explain this to me please?

Ive been using the new agents since shortly after they came out, Ive always included the imdb ID in the file name, and I NEVER have issues with matching.

Take a screenshot of the first tab of the edit library for your movies.

My issue is not about matching, it is language and picking up srt files.

Verify the settings in the properties of the library.
The language setting of the library must be Dutch.
On the Advanced tab, “Use original titles” must be OFF.
“Prefer local metadata” must be OFF.
“Localized subtitles” must be ON.
“Prefer artwork based on library language” must be ON.

Verify that your external subtitles have the exact same file name as the video file. (with the exception of the file name extension and the language code)

Set all options like above, then Refresh Metadata of a few movies.

If it’s still not behaving as expected, please post the first ~20 lines from the Plex XML info of an affected video.

Why?
I want everything in English.

Then you must set it to English.

If you are looking at your Plex server using a web browser, make sure that your web browser is not automatically translating the “web site” to Dutch.

Advanced.
Scanner: Plex movie
Agent: Plex movie
Certification Country: United States
Use original titles: Checked (Movie is originally English)
Prefer artwork based on library language: Checked (Library is set to English)
Use local assets: Checked

Now please refresh metadata and post the Plex media info XML of one movie.
(The content of the XML, not the URL to it!)

Thank you, I will keep an eye on what happens from now on.
I will be adding content to my libraries.

It seems better now, but for some reason the scanner doesn’t select a poster.
I can select a poster when I edit the movie.
