New Plex Movie Agent Won't Recognize Some External Subtitles

I switched my Movies library over to use the new ‘Plex Movie Agent’ but I am finding that it doesn’t recognize some of the external SRT subtitles for movies. If I switch back to the old agent it locates the subtitles just fine. I verified the names, I refreshed the metadata, verified permissions and looked at the many threads on the subject, but none of them allowed the new agent to show the subtitles consistently. It does work on some movies, but not on all movies. Although, I do not see a pattern to why it works on some, but not on others. My directory structure is as follows:

/Movies

  • Movie Title (ReleaseYear)
    • Movie.Title.ReleaseYear.mkv
    • Movie.Title.ReleaseYear.en.srt

I tried changing it by adding a subdirectory for the subtitles in the movie directory as follows, but that didn’t change it either.

/Movies

  • Movie Title (ReleaseYear)
    • Movie.Title.ReleaseYear.mkv
    • /Subs (directory)
      • Movie.Title.ReleaseYear.en.srt

Thoughts on what would cause this? I do not see anything in the logs that pertain to this either. I can provide the logs if need though.

Try disabling Edit library -> Advanced -> Include adult content, apparently there is a bug in the latest beta version.

FYI - this didn’t fix the problem for me. I have .srt subtitles from Bazarr but they don’t show up anymore.

I learned there is a bug which will be fixed in 1.20.1 which should land some time this week.
