Plex not recognising .English for srt

I upgraded my library to the new Plex Agent and now Plex doesn’t recognise .English srt files and says unknown srt but .English for srt was working before and I don’t want to change all my srt files to .Eng.

Did something change in the new Plex Agent?

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#:

The naming convention has always been
name_of_the_video_file.eng.srt

Renaming several files at once is possible.

I have been using .English for srt files for over 2 year since the day I have created my Plex media server.

So I created a new Plex server (version: 1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd-ls34) to test and it recognises .English srt files and doesn’t say unknown.

That is very old version.

The default metadata agents have been rewritten recently.
They are emulating all the documented behaviour of the old agents. The English.srt is undocumented and therefore not part of the new agents.

Oh okay, thank you for the clarification, so I should change all my .English srt files same .Eng is same .English which I was using before?

Sorry, I don’t understand what you are asking.

Sorry, I was just trying to say that I should being .Eng for srt files now instead of using my old way of naming my for srt files .English

Yes, you should only use ISO-639-1 (2-letter) or ISO-639-2/B (3-letter) standard language codes (e.g. .en or .eng) – not full-length language names (e.g. .English)!
