New App for Android (nVidia Shield)

Is there a way to change a few settings on the Android TV version of the plex app?
Version appears to be 9.17.0.38861 under about, running on a 2019 Shield.
The two main issues since the latest version are:

  1. TV shows shrink the credits to the top left of the screen while playing, and bring up next episodes or other similar shows in the main viewing area. This would be fine, expect it tends to occur before the credits start while the show is still playing.
  2. searching through movies, selecting a movie to read the description and going back to the main movies selection now automatically scrolls all the way to the start of the A’s each time. For example, I scroll down to Prophecy and select it, opt not watch it and go back to the movie selection. Instead of returning to Prophecy as the point i have scrolled too, it goes all the way back up to the first A movie. This didn’t use to happen, only started with one of the recent updates.

Hoping these are just settings adjustments i’m overlooking as the older version of the app was better IMO.

This has been discussed in a number of threads. At the moment there’s no option to prevent that behavior on Android TV and Apple TV clients (unless you disable credit detection for good).

It sounds like the same behavior everybody is talking about in this thread
This is about collections but it sounds like you’re getting this even in the regular library now

Yes this sounds like the same issue. I had inquired about it with collections a while ago and didn’t really get any feedback. It was tolerable with collections because I found I could filter on the collection from the main library as a workaround. Now that it is doing it with the main library too, it’s extremely annoying though. Hoping this will be fixed soon for at least the main library

so… is there a potential solution for this? I’ve reached out to support on a few things over the last year and seems silence is the norm on requests for support for a paid product…

The solution is to move to a difference device until you find other annoying issues with that platform that Plex wouldn’t fix.
