New Cloud Beta ..

I know reasons for this change is probably in announcements (which I really don’t have time to read). And the changes will eventually give us a better product, however …

I don’t want to participate in the beta
I don’t want to lose all my previously synced files (google drive)

</End Rant>

And why do you think anything relating to Plex Cloud would effect your existing Plex Server or synced content ?

Because PMS (local) seemed to direct me to trying out the new beta (which I ignorantly didn’t see the No Thanks). I now realize that the new Plex Cloud is not the same as the old Sync Cloud. the new Plex Cloud is a server to access my content that I have already manually uploaded to my gDrive. The old Cloud Sync provides me with a mechanism to actually transcode and upload media.

I have reset everything to unlink the new Plex Cloud and re-link Cloud Sync, and seem to be able to transcode and upload media to cloud storage, but unable to see the link from PMS … I used to be able to use the pull down under PMS to locate Cloud sync, but now only see my local server.

  • Thanks

Never mind. Call me impatient, ignorant, frustrated. As always, PMS just needs a little time to adjust to changes. Plex Cloud Server disconnected, Cloud Sync now re-connected.

I should take the advice I give all other computer users… READ the page.

I now understand the difference between the new Plex Cloud (server) and the old Cloud Sync

If anyone is following this in the future… Wait for it, ya’ll

Judging by your response, I should be able to have all three operating. PMS, Cloud Sync, Plex Cloud … Thanks for your comment
