New Computer with NAS transfer

I know this question has been asked plenty of times, but after searching I haven’t seen anything specific to my situation.

I’m setting up a dedicated server for strictly PLEX and upon completion, and hopefully without too much frustration, I’d like everything to look seamless. Here’s the before and afters:

Current - Desktop using Windows 11 with a HDD running PMS. Single external HDD containing all media
New - sff computer using Windows 10 Pro with an ssd that will run PMS. Synology DS218play with two HDDs for all media.

Can anyone share links or procedures for the best way, and in what order, to transfer everything without losing metadata/watched/settings? Also, any tips or tricks or “don’t do this” would be GREATLY appreciated.

On a side note, while not computer illiterate I’m not an IT guy. So layman’s terms will go a long way. I also have PLEX Pass, if that matters.

So… what exactly are you trying to do?
You plan to migrate your current server (Win 11 machine) to a new machine (Win 10 pro machine) and to move the media from the current server to the Syno. Is that about right?

That should be fairly straightforward if you can follow the procedure in this support article:
