Hi:
I had my plex free (no plex pass) working with live tv, all guide data working great.
I wanted to get DVR capabilities, so I bought a plex pass. When my server finally acknowledged I have it, I went to record, and it didn’t work. When I went back to the DVR settings, it said there was an error and I needed to delete and re-add my tuner. So I did, except when I go to add it, I select the country (United States) and enter my zip (99111), and it dumps me to the XMLTV setup…I was NOT using XMLTV before without the plex pass. I went back and tried to use another zip code in the same market, but a larger city, 99163, but it came with the same issue. So finally, to just see if it is working at all, I tried using a zip from Seattle, WA (98105), and that also came out the same way (dumping me into xmltv setup).
My locale is working in SchedulesDirect for another application (wanting to switch to Plex), so there are working listings for my locale. Plex just isn’t using them…
What’s up? What do I need to do differently? It sucks that it worked before I bought a plex pass, and stopped working once I did buy one.
I took a look at the plex media server.log file and the only “error” I see in there is that it is trying to connect to 192.168.9.232:80. I have no idea what that is (it is on the same subnet as the plex server), but as far as I can tell, there is no device at that IP. Its in my dynamic range, but does not respond to ping, nor does my dhcp server have any record for that IP. I have no DNS entries pointing to that location, either, so I have no idea why it would try and connect to that.
It does say “Parsing SSDP schema for…” and that IP address…
My HD HomeRun tuners are on 192.168.8.141 (primary) and 192.168.8.139 (an HDHomeRun Dual) that I cannot get Plex to recognize for some reason. I haven’t worried about this now, as the tuner at .141 has the feeds I’m most interested in.
The subnets are different, but they are routed across a 1Gbps fiber connection (no VPNs). My terminal in the examples cited is on 192.168.4.4, which is across a IPSEC VPN with proper routing enabled (I use it for other services all the time, and the web UI loaded correctly).
So, I stopped plex, did some network/vlan fu, and added a 192.168.8.x address on the computer hosting plex, started plexmediaserver, and it appears to be working now. It also sees the old DUAL tuner. Setting both up now…
