I don’t think the developers had a lot of say in whether it was released or not - that had to come from someone higher up (and their head should roll).
I would hope any dev related to this project is frustrated for what someone decided to roll out - I’m sure they knew it wasn’t ready for release.
You can do the PIN one time, and have it remembered for that device. Settings/Account and turn on ‘Automatically Sign In’. It’s the same process if you use the Web version.
Maybe they do look at our issues.
But also maybe there are so many issues they can’t even resolve the first one.
Should consider a roll back to a stable version before being overloaded with anymore issues !
Be like real good people : face your failures, accept making apologies, and go back to safe zone.
In case anybody is interested I actually found a way to downgrade the iOS app without jailbreaking. Takes a little doing but it was worth it to get rid of the garbage new app.
If you thought this was genuinely ready for production you have been either mislead on stability and parity before launch or you knew and decided to launch anyway.
New app is unusable. Downloads keep restarting after playing for 20 seconds and you have to go to your downloads to play downloaded files now. It used to be smart enough to grab the local instance.
This new experience is terrible. I want my $5 back from years ago it’s so bad.
some of us have multiple music librarys and plexamp doesnt cater for this at all. i use plexamp for my main library buts its not practical for my other librarys
truely awful app. quickly turned off auto updates on my ipad once i saw the garbage loaded onto my iPhone. i only use my own local media and have no interest in live tv yet im forced to have tabs that are no use to me yet i cant now look at my music videos or music. plex released an app that no one asked for.. especially us power users
@starkraven ,Why not just make a single library for movies and then allow the library to be filtered by genre at the library level then do the same for TV shows?
@starkraven , are we talking about the same irritation about not being able to download an entire season of a TV show with a single click of a button? Did you reply by accident?
I feel like that was really low hanging fruit. Plex gives us a new experience, which no one asked for, then forgoes actual quality of life issues like downloading entire seasons with a single click.
@sixones , You wanna comment on why we got a new app experience but still have no button to download an entire season or show without having to click on each episode individually?
