I have several lifetime plex passes.
Also PIP button does NOTHING in liveTV now.
2025.15.0
This is terrible. How do I go back? I’m trying to watch some of my looney tunes recordings, which played just fine on the old app, and when I started watching, they were all squished horizontally. SO I picked “Original” for size, and now they are just black screen, don’t play. But if I scroll to fast forward, I can see the video.
All I wanted was to watch my videos. How did you break THAT? Can I revert? How?
I think we have very different definitions of major regression.
The functionality is still there, it still works.
No it does not work. I cannot change the codec/quality while chromecasting from my iphone. It worked fine before the update. So the functionality is not there.
This blatant gaslighting is insulting.
I think you maybe responded to my post accidentally then which was about display mode, nothing else.
I didnt post by accident.
Ok, I’m confused then why you are responding to me about Chromecast when I was replying to a different person asking about how they can zoom/fill the video on their iPhone.
Probably just a misunderstanding. Maybe you want to answer to his problem/issue, too?

Not a regression cause it technically exists it just got moved to a dumb spot multiple menus deep. I see this is going to be an interesting transition if that’s how it’s going to be. It didn’t have to be this way if they had listened to feedback during testing.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to do away with folders in the “Downloads” section needs their caffeine and chair privledges revoked..
I have both movies and entire seasons of tv shows downloaded.. i don’t need to see icon grids of every damn item. I want a list of titles with the seasons lumped together in folders like it was prior to this disastrous update..
Please anyone is having the same problem? In my apple tv with plex preview i also can’t play that files. With the old app i never had this problem, in my apple tv with the official app i also don’t have the problem but i am afraid that plex launches the apple tv app soon and i start having the same problem.
Thanks
I suggest that you create a new thread and provide current info including the exact version number of you plex server and plex app.
iPhone running iOS 18.4.1
Plex app v2025.14.0 (1037)
I like having a Live TV icon on the bottom bar, but Favorite Channels is broken - all channels say ‘This channel is no longer available’ which isn’t true, they all show up in the Guide tab. Selecting the Favorite Channels tab also makes the app unreponsive, tapping anything else the app takes an age to respond.
Continue Watching is the first thing on the Home page on my TV apps and is the most useful item on there - why is it completely missing from the Mobile app?
@dokuro I completely agree with you. I have everything except base Plex functions disabled. I do not need their own streaming library, I haven’t watched live tv in over 15 years, and the feature creep/bloat just keeps coming. Now they want the app to match all of this and it’s just a bad experience. No way around that.
Bad UI design and even worse resource management for mostly unwanted features. All I want is Plex, how it used to be in the early days. Just catalog and play my media in the best way possible. That’s what Plex used to be about. Those days seem long gone now.
Please open another thread for this.
I am aware that this issue might be happening because Apple enforced a new level of security when connecting to a server, so you’ll might have to investigate and update settings on your server.
Also, even after making those changes to the server it has been impossible for Plex to recognize the server, so I now have to use 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 on my DNS Settings of every apple device from now on…
Forgive me if this has already been reported, but I searched and didn’t see anything similar aside from this post I’m replying to: I don’t see a way to access Playback Options when casting. (I do see them when playing locally, however.)
Aside from changing the streams as previously mentioned, this means no sleep timer. That’s an important feature to me; I use it literally every day.
While I’m providing feedback, let me respectfully join other voices in the thread: I do not use Live TV, Discover, or On Demand features and have disabled them for all users in the webapp. I solely use Plex to play personal media. I welcome the choice in the new experience to make navigation lower-friction by putting it closer to the thumb zone, but it would be nice to customize what appears there, since I won’t use 3/5 of it.

I can’t update my server as it’s on an old windows 7 box. Everything was working perfectly until this update. Now my android app version is incompatible. Please link to the old apk. I don’t need upgrades. I just need what I had.
You really should migrate that install to a different OS… Windows 7 has been out of support for MANY years and should never be connected to the internet at this point.
As for the Android version, here are the steps to downgrade:
it’s a regression because it used to take a simple double tap on the screen and actually fill the screen appropriately, now it takes several more taps and the options are not as good as what was originally there. That’s a regression.
I have the same issue. Android 15 on Asus Pro9.
Live TV issues ;
Plex pass subscriber who now has a completely unusable app, overnight.
The issues are so bad, this version needs rolling back until the new app at least has basic functions working.
