For gods sake give us the old app back and turn this new one into the separate beta that it clearly is. I’m actually flabbergasted that anybody thought releasing this was a good idea.
Destroyed so much good will with this embarrassment.
This app is not welcome given it removes functionality, forces your ad supported content at us while getting in the way of local content. I can’t even remove live tv from the bottom and I don’t and never have used it. Please help! You are asking us to buy plex pass to use remote streaming, exactly when you release this “new experience” that is demonstrably less functional than the previous version. Please listen to your users and I’ll happily buy in with Plex Pass.

What is the point of this? Why butcher the app to remove all music playback ability? You don’t need to be netflix or pluto or whatever it is you’re doing this for. Do you want to destroy your brand reputation and functionality like SONOS did? What is going on here? This isn’t just “change creates complaint” situation here. This is unacceptable butchering of a product we’ve all invested great time and money into. Now you come out, ask more people to take a leap of faith, buy plex pass, while you hold remote streaming hostage, a deal I was quite willing to make myself because I liked how everything works. Now I don’t know what to think, but that trust is damaged. You can’t do this guys. This is legit a bad idea. Please don’t just be a stubborn company and ignore the feedback you’re getting.
You built this business off your audience. Please don’t ignore us right as you ask more of us to buy in and double your prices.
After reading the reviews I’m glad i turn off auto updates last year. This new app as users have pointed out is terrible from a design standpoint it’s inferior to the old one. No one ask for a redesign we ask for new features like aspect ratio a very basic player feature. Having ads and live tv forced on us is terrible please release a Plex (Legacy) app so we can just ignore this. Separating photos and music was terrible I don’t want to use the plex amp app all the time for very good reasons. And the photos app is worse then the one in plex doesn’t support heic for pictures so it’s irrelevant. I just don’t understand why plex hates us so much investors always run things just like the new checkmark logic that ruined themes no asked for and everyone complained about.
A good question. Plex is leaving us high and dry here. Give us the option to use the old app or something. Or just admit this new plex experience is a massive dud and pull it back. Don’t kill your company rep on the back of this.
I don’t often take time to reply to threads on forums, but I’d like my voice to be heard as well here.
Along with so many others i too feel like this release was a ‘we told people we’d release in Q1’ release rather than anything that was close to finished. Buttons don’t work, general experience was enshittified. I seemed to have turned off the discover page (I actually didn’t mind this one, gave me a nice insight on what’s coming up) but even though i disabled plex’s own live TV channels and don’t have any set up on my server the tab still appears in the bottom bar.
, the settings still haunt me with this All in all this apps might’ve done great with 2 or 3 months of development work. But as of now i wish i could revert to the older experience. There’s no feature parity with the old app and it feels as if we’ve taken tens of steps back.
I really want to like this app, i like the way it looks but i can’t. I absolutely despise it for taking so many features away and ruining so many more
Can you guys make a detailed guide on how the new app works?
I’ve gone through all the settings but i can’t figure out where i can customize my “home” tab on the iOS app. This used to be a very easy task!
Edit: Sorry, figured it out. If you change it in the Library Section it’ll adjust in the home section as well.
I want the old app back!
The latest Plex update on iOS devices has completely ruined the design and user experience of the application. Features have been drastically reduced, and there are so many bugs that in some cases even cause crashes. Honestly, I would have preferred not to update to the new version.
Still as buggy as the beta prev garbage. What the hell!?!? Live TV tab can’t be removed this is outrageous.
As a company, a dev how can you be proud of a release like this. So so many feedback has Ben given in the last few months and they did exactly zero with it.

Pretty sure I know what they mean. There is a “Live TV” tab at the bottom of the app. It’s essentially wasting 1/3 of the bottom bar because if you don’t have a TV tuner setup, and you have the “Live TV” in Online Media Sources disabled, then it’s just empty and there is no way to remove it. I would like to have an option for it to be hidden in this scenario.

I literally paid for plex pass lifetime yesterday and they release this broken trash! Unacceptable to release something this broken, ignoring the terrible design decisions I can’t even get through 2x22min eps without some kind of major issue that needs the app restarting. I’ll be asking for a refund or doing a charge back later today, I should have jumped ship before this but I was lazy and paid up, big mistake on my part.
Which app and Hardware model? There is zero information in your post except it is broken.

All my movies and TV Shows have carefully curated theme music.
Is theme music gone for good or didn’t it make it in the current version?
iPhone 13 Pro Max, app stops responding to touch within an episode, no more than 2, restarts episodes at random, scrubbing isn’t working, episodes don’t update “continue watching” on the device so you can’t even pick up where you left off, to many other small things to bother listing.
All works fine from my Windows PC still and from my old iPad thats thankfully to old to get the latest update
Frankly to release this garbage to the public after announcing you have to pay for what most consider to be basic features is a huge kick in the teeth and an insult to everyone that pays for it. I’m not paying to be a beta tester, I paid because I was to lazy to switch to an alternative, and now I have more issues than I would have had I just done the work. I’m in the process of installing the alternative now.
So will there be any response from Plex in the coming week re the feedback? You need to let us know soon so we can make another plan
My only hope that all the problems in the iOS App will delay any “New Experience” forever for Roku
