Where is my music? Where are my photos? The app is useless. All it shows are movies.
First, it forced me to update the server, but now the app is useless. My photos can’t viewed. My music can’t be played? These are the primary reasons I use Plex.

They have moved to a separate app
Well, with the new android mobile release I am no longer able to see or play any of my music or audiobook files from the server. Considering that I primarily use the mobile app with android auto this isnt good.

We have Live TV turned off. We have always had it turned off because when we share our server, people were having trouble differentiating between TV shows and live TV. We all have Android devices. I’m not sure about the people that we share our server with. But no, no Live TV button whatsoever. But that’s the way we want it setup.
You didn’t answer about what device you’re running into. Sounds like you’re still using the old app.
It’s only been publicly released for IPhone and IPad.

I stated that we use Android devices. I don’t know about the people that we share our server with. A few of them have iPhones and iPads. As for the other methods that we use to watch; Primarily Nvidia Shield Pro’s, attached to most of the TV’s. One TV uses the Plex app built into whatever TV it is, I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Yeah if you’re using Android devices then you aren’t seeing what other people are taking about yet.

Ahhh that makes sense then. We did start preemptively looking into other things to run our server off of after the announcement was made regarding the changes. But until these updates cause us significant issues, we will probably stick with Plex.
I was under the impression that theme music would not change for lifetime Plex pass subscribers? So you’re saying with this new update no more theme music?

I can’t even get my home servers libraries to load on the iOS app. App is responsive but just hangs and never shows libraries. Confirmed working fine on my iPad with old app. Anyone having this issue?
Edit: updating to iOS 18.4 fixed it.

Updated to the new layout on iOS and can immediately say I am not a fan. As others have stated elsewhere the removal of access to music and photos is a major step backwards. The new app is also extremely laggy when it never was before. For example scrolling through my library and the scroll is stuttering and the TV/Movie posters take much longer to load. Additionally, the new libraries tab layout is nonsensical. I do NOT need a “recommended” tab for my own library. It should be as simple as it was before where all I had to do was click my TV/Movie library and boom, there was my collection to scroll through at my own leisure. For TV in particular, the UI decision to scroll sideways between seasons/episodes rather than having it as a list also makes no sense and is a pain to deal with. For shows with numerous seasons, or seasons (like a sitcom) that has 20+ episodes, having to side scroll rather than vertically is the complete opposite of how people typically scroll on their phones and is cumbersome and annoying. With a vertical scroll you can have multiple columns (like it used to) which also reduced the overall scrolling need. With one horizontal row to scroll through it is now much more annoying to get to a particular episode if you want to. Finally, not having the ability to have the video rotate with the phone and lock to just the horizontal view is also a frustrating decision and a step backward in the previous functionality.

The lack of library options is killing me. All this Recommended and Recently Added needs to be easily customized. I don’t want any of it. I just want access to my Libraries and the directory structure I have used since 2012? 2013? I don’t use collections since I have a logical directory tree. I don’t care what is new, I PUT IT THERE. I already know.

For some reason the new app transcodes video on both my iPad and iPhone. It also transcodes downloads to these devices. These same files downloaded and played without transcoding before. I am on iOS 18.4. I have checked allow direct play and allow direct stream.
