I had to re-install Windows, and now I’m setting up my server again. It has found all my movies and TV shows, but for the movies it’s not showing cover art, it’s showing screen shots. I’ve tried changing the options under “Agents” but I must be missing something. The TV shows show cover art for some reason. I’ve searched but must be using the wrong terms or something. Thanks!
Server Version#: 1.21.0.3711
Player Version#: 4.29.2
Not sure what agent I’m using. I know I tried to change the order and what was checked under the artwork options. Everything is the correct file, and the images are just random screenshots from the movie. Some of them have the actual cover artwork, but I haven’t been able to figure out why those ones are different.
Not sure what you mean by what library type. It’s under Movies. But if there’s more information I can provide, please let me know. I will say that when you first open Plex you have to drill down a couple of menus to get to the library, which I didn’t use to have to do (it would just show my movies and TV only). Not sure if this is related at all or just another option I need to change. Thanks!
As for the navigation your new server probably just shows under the More section. If it’s your only server, you can click reset customizations to re-initialize the navigation… otherwise you can pin the new libraries to show in the main navigation: https://support.plex.tv/articles/customizing-plex-web/
As for library type and agent, I was referring to what information you see when editing that particular movie library:
Hover your mouse over the library Name in the navigation
Click ... > Manage Library > Edit...
See Type on the General tab
See Agent on the Advanced tab
Any additional configuration on the Advanced tab about local Media Assets / posters / …?
Do you have any posters/image files stored alongside your media files that Plex should pick up on?
Thanks! Under the Advanced tab I had Plex Movies as the Agent. I changed it to the Movie Database, and then after I saved one of the options was to refresh metadata. Once I did that, about 75% of the thumbnails were the correct posters. The ones that were still movie stills were sort of random. Some that should definitely be found in the database, such as Moana, weren’t updated. Then there were some made for TV movies which I understand. Downloaded the ones that didn’t update, then manually added the poster art, which seems to have worked fine.
As for the main screen, I’ve got it mostly organized the way I want, which is to only see my Library. I still get the Recommended screen, but it looks like that can’t be changed.
Thanks for the help!
