I’ve installed a New ASUSTOR AS5304T NAS with 3 seagate exos 8tb har drives setup with raid 5, I have 8 gigs of memory on the NAS. I also have a plex server setup on the same network on a Dell 2950 poweredge server. I had copied many movies from my old Verbatim Powerbay to the new NAS. Most of the movies will not play ifI attempt to play them off of the server installed on the NAS but will play on the Plex server installed on the Dre;ll from the NAS. If attempting to play on the Server installed on the NAS they will pixelate drastically or show slow frame by frame or be blank with only audio playing. Sometimes the information screen when choosing a movie will only show the background picture but not allow you to even play it. Some movies, not many, play perfectly fine. I have ruled out file corruption from copying from the old NAS as they all play fine from the external server. I love thios NAS so far, but the ASUSTOR tech support is via email and submitting tickets on a website. They don’t offer a human to talk to unless purchasing. I think the hardware is superior to any NAS i’ve used so far, but like I said the support has some to improve… I submitted a ticket with ASUSTOR regarding this problem, but no response yet. I really would like to have it all on the NAS but if I cannot I will just run it on the Dell. Before I purchased this NAS I was told it should run Plex fine an decode at good speed even multiple clients/movies simultaneously. Please if anyone can offer me any help with this I would appreciate it. I know how to export the system info from the NAS if that would help…
