New layout, updating and buffering

My LG TV Plex app has just been updated (which I didn’t want!). In order of importance :-

  1. Every video now shows “buffering” from about 50% in and every few seconds until the end.
  2. How do I stop Plex from being updated automatically on my TV?
  3. Just when I got used to the last layout change it changes again. Please stop these terrible ideas.

Is anyone else experiencing buffering? Everyone outside my premises on other players don’t experience this and my PS4, iPad, iPhone all work fine, and my TV worked fine before the update.

My LG isn’t buffering, it’s just flat out not playing any videos. Error Code H4 is all I get.

Re: Point 1 - I know for a fact that the update is somehow responsible for the buffering. Nothing to with the bandwidth of the TV or my network. My TV is connected via cable and whilst it does connect at 100mbps, it’s nowhere near maximum utilisation. Also, as I said before, the same videos worked fine before the update with exactly the same setup. I basically haven’t used Plex for LG since the update as it completely unusable.

I notice the usual “support” for Plex is no where to be seen on the forums and I won’t be wasting my time trying to post issues for them to be ignored!

I understand that more information was required, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to give the basic problem details and then wait for a Plex Support representative to come back to me and ask the relevant questions.

I’m very technical and can provide any information required, but I don’t want to waste my time providing the information until I know someone official is on board who is willing to accept there could be a problem.

I’ve “resolved” it myself for now by using XPlay for LG or Plex for PS4.

I’m not seeing buffering, but I’m not playing hi-res files either. Regarding the new interface, I can get used to it.

One problem is that after watching an episode of a series and then deleting it from the server (my normal handling), the episode disappears from the bottom row, the next episode is high-lighted, but the main display at the top of the screen remains showing the episode I just deleted, not the one selected on the bottom row. These should always be in sync, it can be very confusing.
