Plex App on LG not working!

Hi, Plex app on my LG TV suddenly stopped working properly 2 days ago. What happens is, you can browse just find, but if you play a video it will play for nearly 1 minute then, it just buffers at infinitum with black background. Usually when a video buffers, the background is still the image of the video whatever the minute is and then continue to play fine before. Nothing ever plays anymore. It will play in the web client on the server computer, Plex Home Theater, and all local files play fine.

I reset the modem and router but still not working.

What does it say in the Server’s dashboard when trying to play. Transcoding?

Very low bit rate 2mbps are you using wifi?

No, I’m using Ethernet cable.

What quality have you set your TV app? Set it to Original or 20Mbps

I set it up to Original (double checked)

Can you send a copy of the Media info of that title.

Yes, I’m checking often since it happened and it is up to date

No, I believed it was updated last week and working fine until 2 days ago.

We only have a couple more options.

First the easy one, Go to power point and turn the TV off at the wall for two minutes.

How to you feel about rolling back the server version?

I’m ok as long as it doesn’t affect my libraries!

No Problem,

Rolling back on Windows works as follows:

  1. note down your current Plex Server software version
  2. Stop Plex Server using its tray icon.
  3. uninstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows. Do not use 3rd party ‘uninstaller’ software like Revo etc. Do not use Registry cleaners/optimizers.
  4. go to your Plex data folder .
    There is a subfolder in there, named Updates which will contain previous versions of the installer .exe
  5. execute the installer for the previous software version
  6. reboot Windows (just a safety measure, it may work without rebooting as well)

Go to a Version pre 1.18.7 say a 1.18.6, I have read some LG models suffered with issues with recent updates.

Rolled back to 1.18.6.2368 but still not working!
