Hi, Plex app on my LG TV suddenly stopped working properly 2 days ago. What happens is, you can browse just find, but if you play a video it will play for nearly 1 minute then, it just buffers at infinitum with black background. Usually when a video buffers, the background is still the image of the video whatever the minute is and then continue to play fine before. Nothing ever plays anymore. It will play in the web client on the server computer, Plex Home Theater, and all local files play fine.
I reset the modem and router but still not working.
Please help.
note down your current Plex Server software version
Stop Plex Server using its tray icon.
uninstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows. Do not use 3rd party ‘uninstaller’ software like Revo etc. Do not use Registry cleaners/optimizers.
go to your Plex data folder .
There is a subfolder in there, named Updates which will contain previous versions of the installer .exe
execute the installer for the previous software version
reboot Windows (just a safety measure, it may work without rebooting as well)
Go to a Version pre 1.18.7 say a 1.18.6, I have read some LG models suffered with issues with recent updates.
