New Live TV Plex Service

Correct with what?

Thank you very much. Pinning it totally worked

you were correct with the blue and green swirl. Pinning the live tv icon seems to have resolved the problem thank you for your help

Anyone have an issue where they notice the channels aren’t in HD?

It is working now. It seemed to be a combination of staged rollout and my managed user settings.

Looks like 240p.
and that’s generous.

couldn’t get it back to Disabled fast enough.

I’m hoping maybe it’s just a little issue with too many people coming on at one time.

Resolution is adaptive to your internet connection. It will improve after a few seconds.
Some channels are running old tv shows or internet videos.
The quality on those is obviously limited.

I saw all I needed to.

I’ll keep it its new and takes time to perfect!

and I thought maybe you hooked up with Locast and added OTA channels

I am getting “There was an error loading channels” when trying to access the Plex Live TV. My own tuner is working fine.

Having the same errors on MacOS desktop with Live TV and tuners. Browser player seems to work.

Took a look through the listing,
tried the news channel just to see if it actually worked
let that run for 10 mins no problems I noticed.

But nothing in that list was of any interest to me…

maybe they will expand the channels over time.
Would like the option to remove channels from the listing, ones I would never watch.

see where they go with this.

I’m receiving the same error as it seems most everyone is. I don’t want to buy a DVR or an antenna to access the feature. If it just doesn’t come with it i’ll pass.
If it IS free and I don’t have to buy any equipment? Then yes, how do you fix this issue.
Picture provided of error. This is the error under my Settings → Manage → Live TV & DVR section.

Think your in the wrong place.

It’s just called Live TV and shows up at the bottom of the side bar under Plex

Just verified that the Web client also allows access to my existing tuner, but not the new feature. Just sucks that the Plex app on MacOS is totally broken for live TV at the moment.

I get it via the web client.

@cweavertx_gmail_com live tv/dvr was free for a LIMITED period of time, if it worked before but no longer does, then it seems the free period is over and you will need a plex pass to use live tv/dvr+tuner.

Update (March 2020):
Get Live TV and 48 hours of guide data free for the next 90 days (through June), no Plex Pass needed! DVR recording will continue to require a Plex Pass subscription.

if you are looking for the FREE LIVE TV FROM PLEX, then you may need to click MORE > scroll to the bottom left side > LIVE TV ON PLEX

this icon image requires a supported TV tuner AND plex pass.

this icon image is the free live tv, does not require plex pass, does not require plex server.

Followed the steps to enable LiveTV for my account, and I now see it.

In my case I had multiple servers, so I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the sidebar (below all servers I have access to). :zipper_mouth_face:

The MacOS version of the Plex app still crashes when I try to start a stream from my HDHomeRun Prime. I have confirmed that MacOS version of Plex Media Player, AppleTV app, iOS app & web client are all able to stream from the same HDHomeRun tunder without issue.
