i don’t think server logs would be necessary.
so i can cast using https://app.plex.tv/ and i certainly miss being able to go directly to my server and cast (why was that taken away?)
but my real question is how do i get the player to cast to chromecast?
If you wan to cast you need to user the web app in Chrome browser at https://app.plex.tv or https://serverIP:32400/web
It was not taken away from the Mac app as it never had it. (Can not cast through Plex Media Player desktop mode either)
On desktop computers, casting to Chromecast is only available through the Chrome browser as that is what Google’s official API supports. https://developers.google.com/cast/docs/reference/

but you are incorrect about https://serverIP:32400/web being able to cast, as it now just redirects you to https://app.plex.tv first but it used to work nicely. i liked using the ip better because if the internet went down the prior link would still work, and as long as you didn’t pause too long the chromecast would continue to work too.
Yes you can. it will redirect you if you have not used it via that IP, so you can sign in then will redirect back to ip again. ( you need to use https not http )
