New media does not appear in libraries after PlexPass purchased

Server Version#: 1.41.5.9522
Player Version#:
Kubuntu Version 24.04

I purchased a PlexPass on about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have been unable to update my libraries with new movies or new music. After adding new content into my media directory, I have tried manually scanning the library files; however, there are no updates in Plex. Content currently in the library is able to be played.

To check whether my naming convention was the culprit, I deleted a movie file that was playable in my library from the file directory, scanned the files and the movie was gone. I tried putting the file back in the directory and scanning the library files again; the movie did not reappear.

I have checked for duplicate names. There are two duplicates, both of which are situations in which I have two versions of a movie with alternate endings. The duplication is intentional.

The computer that hosts the Plex server resides has regular updates, none of them have been a new operating system or anything that appeared significant.

I’m not familiar with debug files; the files I have downloaded appear to be relatively large. Please let me know the correct place from which one would want to see files.

I appreciate any help that can be provided.

Can you provide the Server DEBUG logs ZIP file ?
( Settings - [server] - Troubleshooting - Download Logs )

Please attach it here, i’ll look at what might be going wrong.

Adding a PlexPass doesn’t change how media scanning works so it’s likely to be unfortunate coincidence

Thank you for your quick reply. I was looking at possible solutions for about 4 days before posting my request.

Attached below are the logs. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to receive.

First thing I’d like you to do is turn off IPv6 support for your server.
(Settings - Server - Network - Show Advanced) – at the top of the page.

You have an IPv6-capable machine but your LAN/WAN is IPv4 only

I am only seeing music being scanned.
Do you have only music sections?

I have unchecked the box for IPv6 support and saved changes. I then rebooted the computer. I am still not receiving updates.

I have movies, shows and music on my server. There are 613 movies, 31 television series and a little over 20,000 music tracks.

How do you have the media structured & named?
Is it per Plex naming rules?

I ask because I see it list a bunch of media but nothing is actually scanned.

The media is saved on 2 dedicated physical drives in a RAID 1 formation. I tried to follow the Plex naming rules. The main directory is named HDMedia. Within that directory are directories named: movies; Music; and shows. File naming convention for movies is “Movie Name (YEAR).mkv”. Show files are in sub directories: Show Name (YEAR)/Season XX/“Show Name (YEAR) sXXeYY.mkv”. Music files are in sub directories Artist/Album/“XX Song Name.mp3”

The file extensions aren’t all identical (e.g. instead of .mkv it may be .mp4), but the extensions are always valid for the type of media.

I have tested the ability to play movies, shows and music. Everything that I tested that appear in Plex is playable; Plex is no longer allowing me to add new content.
