Plex server won't recognize new files recently

Hi,
when I’m adding new files to the media library recently it won’t update even with the automatics scanning is on.
Trying with manual scanning won’t help, the only method that is working is to delete the TV Shows / Movies library in the Plex server and adding it again (so it’s not naming issue or permissions).

  • please show some examples of your folder and file names
  • check your plex database for damage:
  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

I will add the file folder and later I will try to reproduce the problem with the debugging on.

I know it’s not the file system issue because it used to work with the same naming system

It appears that you have pointed the TV shows library to the path C:\Plex Media\Plex Media.
That should be C:\Plex Media\Plex Media\TV Shows instead.

P.S.: if you expect those subtitle files to appear in Plex, you should ensure that the SRT file has an identical file name to the video file (except for the language code and the file name extension, of course).

Hi Thanks for the help but nothing has solved it.
I tried relocating the folder like you’ve suggested, and deleting the database file.
I only can add new files by manually deleting the TV and Movies folders in the Plex server and adding it again.

Furthermore, it’s was working good in the past and it stated only recently with the last updates.

After fixing the folder path to the tv show library, try the Plex Dance with a few shows.
