New Mobile App Is garbage

I just got upgraded to the new Experience Plex Android app on my mobile phone. There are too many things wrong with it to list in a single post.

For starters, it is extremely slow and clunky.

Secondly, it doesnt display TV and Movies screens correctly in landscape orientation; at least in high-DPI landscape orientation on my mobile phone. Images/screen is gigantic and gets cut off: It is completely unusable.


I just opted out of the beta program; reinstalling the normal version. Now Plex works correctly and displays correctly; even in high-DPI mode in Lanscape orientation on my mobile phone:

Lastly, LiveTV gets stuck loading LiveTV Guide. Also, it doesnt display correctly in landscape orientation either.. My TV Guide has a few hundreds channels. LiveTV Guide has worked perfectly for many years without a hitch.

Did the developers even bother testing the app before pushing it to beta users?

This is probably the quickest way to force users to switch to using Emby/Jellyfin.

Big probleme for me is the impossibility to read anything on my matepad pro 13 and translation is missing for many words.

Have to agree the mew app is no good. Often fails to connect, hard to navigate, etc. Definitely a step backwards

How to enable captions while streaming to Chromecast? Switch audio track?
When go back it oftens as to enter pin again.
By some reason it just skips video and refuse to cast them.
Rectangle with squared corners is misleading as it used to be Chromecast.

In general I like new casting approach.

But please don’t release it yet as GA version.

The app is garbage on Android and Apple devices. I am in the process of moving all my content over to Jellifin as we speak. Nothing like destroying use trust in a product. It appears they are pushing their content over my own now. Pure garbage.

The new app is truly garbage. I hate navigating in it. PLEX PLEASE REVERSE this crap.

Anyone know how to adjust the home screen? I â– â– â– â– â– â– â–  hate all this crap they put on it.

Who ever came up with this new app design should be fired for sure.

I’m here to voice a similar opinion of the new app and its “lack” of functionality.

I can get it to put the Plex banner up on the Chromecast, then when I attempt to play the next video in queue, it skips at least 5 before it can play.
I have to revert to the Web Based View to play what should be the next video in queue.

The sad thing is that I think the developers/employees couldn’t care less about how many paid users complain here about what a huge mistake they made.

They would rather have their app lose significant popularity/profit than revert their “New Experience” app back to the previous “working” version on both mobile platforms.
