Server Version#: 1.16.3.1402
Player Version#:
I added several movies in the last couple days but none of them have any metadata and aren’t displaying in the library correctly.
Naming convention is the same, all older added movies are fine, it’s just the newly added ones that are not behaving!
FFS. Seagate PersonalCloud is no longer seen by Plex as an authorised device?! Actually that’s not strictly accurate - It’s listed but not connecting. It lists the wrong server version whereas I go to Seagate personal cloud app manager and it’s all working fine, up to date etc
Somewhere there’s a disconnect
Removed from Plex and tried adding again without success. restarted everything, still nothing but a windows update appears to have sorted the connection and I have no idea why. Still not getting metadata to new movies though.
So having read around I saw people having issues with IPv6 so I found the toggle in Network settings and switched it off (don’t recall ever switching it on).
Refreshing metadata on the specific movies got that working but the date added is still borked.
I don’t know your type of NAS, but these issues are either caused by
- the date/timestamp on the media file is in the future
- your NAS doesn’t have proper date/time information (or at least it didn’t when you added the movies)
Make sure you have set up your NAS to automatically fetch proper time from a time server (the service is usually called ntp
).
A Plex Dance of the items in question should clear the wrong date.
(provided you have activated the ntp service and it’s working)
Might try that, thanks. It’s a Seagate Personal Cloud which although slow has been working perfectly for ages so was a bit weird to see some issues come up
Aaand the server has disappeared again… Never got to trying the Plex Dance before plex lost the server. Not sure why this is so unstable now and very frustrating!!
