New music folder on NAS not recognised by Plex

I recently added another music folder to one of my libraries on my QNAP TS251+. Nothing unusual as I’ve done similar many times before. But when I sync /scan my library to update the files in Plex Media Server all files in the new folder are not scanned . So I end up having to move those folders out of the new folder into one of the existing older library folders. Any advice?

I believe the QNAP OS is based on Linux. Nearly always when Plex can’t find files on a Linux system, it’s a permissions issue.
