I created a new music library with the same settings as all my others but it’s not auto-updating when I add an album. I have to manually scan the new library before new content is displayed. I can’t figure out why this new library isn’t working like the others.
Check 1:
Have you configured your server to allow automatic library updates?
Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Scan my library automatically

Depending on your OS there can be limits to the default number of folders the OS can monitor for changes. Here’s e.g. a description how to determine/increase that number for Linux.
All my other libraries update automatically about 1 minute after an album is added but not the new library. I’ve had more libraries than now so the number of directories shouldn’t be the issue. The library is new with barely a dozen albums so I’ll delete it and recreate it. Maybe I’ll get lucky.
If you don’t, you might need to share your server logs for a deeper look into this.
Today, I did the server update and the library seems to updating correctly now.
