That’s the right one. As for your question – that shouldn’t matter
Ok… so you have downloaded this and run it.
Can you quickly walk me through if there’s been any messages / issues during the installation?
If the install has succeeded – you do have an entry for Plex Media Server in your start menu. When you click on that… will the Plex icon appear in the Windows task tray?
Now download and install the server https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/
If, after the installation has finished, it opens a web page in Microsoft Edge
copy the address form the address bar and paste it into Chrome or Firefox.
%LOCALAPPDATA% is a pointer to a hidden folder in your user folder, which usually sits on drive C, yes.
It is in this path: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server
Please copy the whole string %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs and paste it into the address bar of the Windows file explorer and press Enter. It will take you directly there.
Otherwise you’d have to enable the display of ‘hidden folders’ first, to see it.
Your logs are telling me, that you have attempted to install Plex server to the root folder of drive J:
Don’t do that.
Uninstall it.
Then re-install it and after starting the installation .exe click on ‘Options’ and verify that it points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\
If it doesn’t, paste the correct path into there.
The Plex program folder is only 155 MB large.
What you probably want to do, is to move the Plex data folder to drive J:
but let’s do that later, after Plex server is up and running.
