Using server version 1.21.3.4046 on my Synology NAS. Everything was working fine before I was prompted to update to the new Plex Movie agent. After changing to the new Plex Movie no metadata is being pulled for new movies. If I do I do a “Fix Match” the agent searches and finds the correct metadata and I can add it manually, but it used to happen automatically.
Any suggestions?
So you went through the “Update matching” process?
Yes. Now Plex uses the new Plex Movie agent and not the legacy agent.
After “upgrade matching”, you need to “Refresh all Metadata” for the whole library. Otherwise, the library remains in a weird transition state, until each item’s metadata have been refreshed or the “Fix Match” procedure has been performed.
Tried refreshing the library database a couple of times. Plex refuses to lookup metadata automatically ever since I upgraded to the new agent
Disable any VPNs and try again.
Think I figured it out. May be a file naming issue.
The old agent worked fine with file names that included title, year, resolution, sound format, etc.
I changed the file name to “Title (Year)” and now it seems to be working.
